Winnipeg, May 6, 2024 - In the early hours of Friday, May 4, a pedestrian was killed at the intersection of St. Mary’s Road and Chesterfield Avenue. Winnipeg Police Service responded to the distressing incident around 12:40 a.m.


The victim, an adult female pedestrian, was swiftly attended to by members of the Winnipeg Fire Paramedic Service and taken to a local hospital in critical condition. Despite the efforts of medical professionals, the woman later succumbed to her injuries. Police have identified the deceased as a 38-year-old female resident of Winnipeg.


The driver of the vehicle involved in the accident remained at the scene and cooperated with police officers. According to police reports, there is no immediate indication of foul play, and the driver spoke with investigators following the incident.


The Collision Investigation Section of the Traffic Division has taken charge of the ongoing investigation. They are urging anyone who may have witnessed the collision or has relevant video evidence, such as dash camera footage, to come forward.
